Bread from Dorothy Lane: $4.99
Peanut butter from Meijer: $6 for 6 jars
Maple syrup jug: $20
Farmer’s Market: $6.50
It’s the first week of June, and that means our local Farmer’s Market is officially open! The pickings start out a little slim, so no tomatoes for us this week, but I was excited to find some snap peas.
We are going to the local amusement park, and are packing a lunch, so I bought a few special treats that will be cheaper than buying food there. (Seriously, they charge $16 for a slice of pizza, a bread stick, and a drink). I have individual packs of cinnamon applesauce and juice boxes that are for “field trip” days only.
I got two small containers of cotton candy and mini-raisin boxes for our “field trips” too. We’ll be packing lunches of peanut butter and jelly, fruit, raisins, applesauce, juice boxes, water, and cotton candy. We might splurge on an ice cream cone, and then we’ll use a coupon to pick up a cheese pizza to eat at Grandma’s. For $16, we can buy a whole pizza instead of one measly slice!
Frozen veggie were $1, so I stocked up. I envision some vegetable soup in our future.
